Eicker PhD - Gravity field and radial basis functions

What is radial basis functions and how it is been used in geoid computation? One need to read a phd thesis entitled "Gravity field refinement by radial basis functions from in-situ satellite data" for an answer. The thesis was submitted by Annettee Eicker in 2008.

Geoid computation using Ring Integration Method at UNB (1992)

Geoid computation by Ring Integration Method was introduced by AHH Kearsley of UNSW in mid-80s. In UNB a MSc thesis on such topic has been worked and submitted by Tsen in 1992.
