A PhD thesis entitled “Land surveying in 18th and early 19th - Century Dublin” was written by Finnian O’Cionnaithmm at Dept of History, National U of Ireland. The thesis examined in April 2011 and was about 400 pages long. The research examined in detail the history and also include technology, methods, processes and cartographic style of Dublin’s land surveyors.
The period covered by this research, 1690-1810, was a time of
transformation in the surveying profession.
