Prof Hwang Lecture - Day 3

On day three and the final day of Hwang's visit he presented lecture on the topic "Absolute, superconducting and satellite gravimetry for geodynamics and hydrology". The venue was changed to a room in T06. This was done as car free day was enforced at the main campus.

Professor Cheinway Hwang of Geodesy Laboratory, Dept of Civil Engineering, National Chiao Tung University Taiwan came for a short stay at GnG UTM.

Mesyuarat GWG Jupem

Mesyuarat Geodetic Working Group (GWG) Bahagian Ukur Geodetik Jupem di adakan pagi ini bermula jam 9.30 pagi. Tugasan menghadiri mesyuarat adalah untuk membentang laporan aktiviti Team 2 - Gravity Field and Geoid Modelling sepanjang tahun 2016.

Trevor F Baker - Earth tides and ocean tide loading

Trevor Baker name is spotted when glancing through the IAG 104 symposia proceeding. Baker is a scientist working at Bidston Observatory, Merseyside UK. Later searching through google a lot more info on him were found. Baker worked a lot on tide gauges, earth tides and been known more on topics related to ocean tidal loading. His achievement was recognized with Paul Melchior Medal awarded to him in 2016. The award was presented at a ceremony during the 18th Int Symp on Geodynamics and Earth Tides, Trieste Italy (read source).
