Sejarah berlaku pada 1984

1 January – Hotel Majestic (later occupied by Balai Seni Lukis Negara (National Art Gallery) was closed after 52 years of operation. It reopened in 2012.

11 January – Dr. Zaini Shaarani, an employee of Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) became the first Malaysian to scale the Mount Kala Pattar in the Himalayas.

12 January – The National Incorporation policy and Agriculture policy were introduced.

January – The federal government planned to build a transit system between Sentul and Petaling Jaya.

31 January – Sultan Idris Shah II of Perak died suddenly after suffering a heart attack in Lumut, Perak. On 3 February, he was replaced by his nephew, Sultan Azlan Shah as the 34th Sultan of Perak.

1 February – Official opening of the Bandar Tun Razak (formerly Kampung Konggo) by the Prime Minister, Mahathir Mohamad in conjunction with the 10th anniversary of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur.

February – The Kuala Lumpur International Marathon was held for the first time.

February – Johore Safari World closed after three years of operation.

11 April – Official opening of the new Sabah Museum by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang.

16 April – Labuan island became the second Federal Territory after Kuala Lumpur.

26 April – Sultan Iskandar of Johor was elected as the eighth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, replacing Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang.

5 May – Dayabumi, the famous landmark in Kuala Lumpur was opened.

17 May – The Edaran Otomobil Nasional Berhad (EON) was established.

7 June – The name "Saga" was chosen for the first national cars.

22 September – Sultan Iskandar of Johor was installed as the eighth Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Setelah tamat sesi praktikal bersedia untuk ke T5. Sebagai pelajar tahun akhir penginapan secara otomatik di tempatkan di Flat PKNS Kampung Baru. Dapat pula unit aras bawah di tingkat 3. Antara rakan yang tinggal di unit sama ialah WMWM pelajar ukur bahan. [Setelah graduat beliau berkhidmat dengan FU dan terlibat pula dengan Jemaah JI].

Kern E1 Electronic Theodolite 1984

 

Syarikat Kern mula mengeluar produk teodolit eletronik E1 pada 1984. Peralatan E1 apabila digabungkan dengan Kern DM503 akan membentuk sebuah total station yang mengukur sudut dan jarak secara elektronik.

Numerical solution of Molodensky problem - Sideris & Schwarz (1988)

During period 1987- 88 saw many research developments on gravity field reported by Calgary group. One of them is a paper "Advances in the numerical solution of the linear Molodensky problem" by MG Sideris and KP Schwarz published in Bulletin Geodesique 62:5-69 (now known as J of G).

IUGG/IAG Vancouver 1987

IUGG  and IAG General Meeting was held in Vancouver in June 1987. IAG President at that time was Prof Angus Leppan. It was also the occasion of 125th anniversary of IAG.

Among the papers;

FIG Congress Toronto 1986

FIG Congress and Deformation Measurement Workshop are two important events to surveying community whom dealing with geodetic deformation analysis (GDA). In both events representatives of Commission 6 FIG were there to dissiminate knowledge and latest development on GDA.

The 18th FIG Congress was held in Toronto in June 1986.  A number of papers on GDA were presented and among the most importance were paper by Working Group 6.1 on deformation analysis (led by Adam Chrzanowski);

"Report on the ad-hoc committee on the analysis of deformation surveys" by A Chrzanowski & Chen Yong-qi.
