Women Astronomer (2)

Pada awal kebangkitan astronomi universiti dan kolej di negara Barat masih belum membenar wanita masuk belajar. Maka wanita yang mencebur dalam bidang astronomi hanya bekerja sebagai penghitung atau dipanggil women computers. Namun apabila peraturan tersebut bertukar  maka beberapa astronomer yang merupakan graduan wanita mula muncul. Antaranya adalah;

Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin (1900-1979) was the first Harvard astronomy Ph. D. Her thesis laid all of the theoretical groundwork to assign physical temperatures to stars based on their spectral lines.

Beatrice M. Tinsley (1941-1981) a British-born New Zealand astronomer and cosmologist and professor of astronomy at Yale University, whose research made fundamental contributions to the astronomical understanding of how galaxies evolve, grow and die. [Baca wiki].
