Peperiksaan Akhir Khas

Ketika peperiksaan akhir Sgu4803 seorang pelajar tidak hadir kerana menerima rawatan di HSA Johor Bahru. Beliau telah sembuh dari rawatan dan segera kembali ke kampus untuk membolehkan menduduki peperiksaan khas. Peperiksaan tersebut diadakan pada hari terakhir musim peperiksaan (iaitu hari terakhir memasukkan markah).

Sghu4803 Final Exam

The final exam for Sghu4803 was held on June 21, 2015 afternoon. Two students were absent one student was at the hospital for treatment while another was said to apply for deleting the subject. The exam was supposed for two and a half hour period. One student was handed-in his answer script five minutes before an-hour (meaning that he only need 55 minutes to complete the exam).

Gravity Group Meeting

A meeting was held for Gravity Group at Uitm on June 16. The meeting is part of the activities planned for Geodetic Working Group Team 2 (GWG T2) members. Usually GWG T2 meeting was held at Jupem HQ but this time we decided to have it at Uitm. The meeting was concentrated on the discussion about on-going research development on gravity and geoid at UTM and Uitm. The meeting was attended by me and Norehan (MSc student) from UTM while Uitm was represented by Saipul Aman and Azlan (MSc student).

PM Safie's Retirement Lecture

A staff of FGRE Assoc Prof Mohd Safie is going to retire soon after thirty-nine years of service. That is really a very long contribution of academic service. In conjunction of his retirement occasion an event was held for PM Safie to deliver a special lecture (in the invitation it was termed as good bye lecture). The lecture topic was entitled "Coordinate System in Mapping & GIS".

PSM Seminar - Extend Students

Two final year students on extended semester finally managed to finish their PSM work recently. They presented their project during a special session of PSM Seminar. They are Izzudin (now works with Fugro) presenting a survey project related to oil and gas, and Ikhwan sharing his works experience on horizontal directional drilling (HDD) as applied to underground utility survey.

LI Students Seminar

Seminar session for the LI students to present their training experience was held recently. The presentations were divided into several parallel session. Each session consists of five students and two panels to evaluate.

LI Open Seminar 2015

It is an annual event to have an open lecture by invited professional surveyor to students who have just completed their LI stint. This year the speaker invited was Mr Razali Ahmad from Petronas. He gave a talk entitled "Geomatics in Oil & Gas Industry". The talk was very enlightening where he spend about one hour and half followed by Q&A session for about half an-hour.

Pembentangan PSM2 (4Sghu)

Sesi pembentangan projek tahun akhir PSM2 berjalan seharian dengan enam sesi berjalan serentak (parallel sesions) pagi dan petang. Beberapa sesi berjalan dengan seorang panel sahaja daripada dua panel yang dilantik. Sesi yang saya dan panel kedua bersidang berjalan lancar. Lima pelajar membuat pembentangan bermula jam 8.45 pagi dan selesai menjelang jam 1 ptg (sekitar 4 jam).

Sesi Pembentangan Pasca Ijazah

Kali ini diberi tugas sebagai pengerusi  untuk sesi pempentangan proposal pasca ijazah di T06. Dua pelajar yang membentangkan proposal Izzati (MPhil Geoinfo) dan Mohd Miqdad (MSc Geoinfo). Sesi mula tepat jam 9.30 pagi seperti mana jadual. Pembentangan pertama (Izzati) selesai dalam tempoh lebih sedikit satu jam. Pembentangan kedua memakan masa berlarutan lebih sedikit dua jam kerana banyak persoalan yang dibangkitkan.

Jamuan Mak Jah Sghu4803

Setiap tahun selepas kuliah penamat Ukur Deformasi semua pelajar yang mengikuti Sghu4803 akan dijemput untuk jamuan makan tengahari bersama. Majlis untuk sesi semester ini telah  diadakan di Kafe Mak Jah. Pada kali ini tiga pelajar (dari kelas seramai 24 orang) tidak dapat hadir. Kepada yang turut serta diucapkan berbanyak terima kasih.
